Today we left for Jeffreysbay in the Eastern Cape.

We arrived at Colesberg at 06h15 and Hubby decided he was hungry.  We stopped at the Wimpy for breakfast.  As you can see.  It is still early for every one.

I decided to take photo’s of the road signs to document our trip.

The next town of interest was Graaff-Reinet.  We only stopped for petrol and a quick look around.  This is a beautiful town with lots of old historical buildings.

There is also a lovely coffee and craft shop with lots of interesting stuff for sale.  A definite weekend shopping getaway for ladies and some hubbies.

And off we went again.  Of course Hubby was making conversation and mentioned that it must be very uncomfortable to get a flat in the hot Karoo.  (I think it was already hot enough).  And there it was.  First the car made some twists on a turn and as I already know that feeling I asked Hubby whether it might be a flat.

Flap flap flap. It was a flat.  Trust me if Hubby thought the road might be hot and uncomfortable a bakkie’s spare wheel is situated in the most stupid place of all.  Half an hour later and very hot we were on our way again.

Definitely stopping on our way back.

At Uitenhage we stopped to get the wheel fixed.  They tried several times to patch the tyre, however was not able to do anything and did we take the change to go to Jeffreys without any spare wheel.
 Waiting patiently.

We arrived in Jeffreys unloaded the vehicle and we were off to the sea.

You will think my boys are from the flat Free State but like their Mom and her Mom they love the sea.

The sun was shining and it was hot.  Not long and Dad joined them.

And when the boys were not in the water, they dug for water.
Once back at our vacation flat we were greeted by a local.

They are feral cats that live at the sea side.  Sometimes they get quit tame. Greeter’s one foot was not properly developed and there was only one toe formed.  She is quit skinny.  We are forbidden to feed them but how do you look a hungry cat in the eye.  The thing is that when you give cat food their stomach gets upset.

The local SPCA tries to spay as many as possible and take care of some of their medical needs.

It is actually very sad.
